It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a friend, comrade, mentor and fabulous person. You gave selflessly to all Legions and you will be deeply missed. Rest easy.
Today, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #96, Brockville, mourns the loss of someone who truly meant the world to us.
Ralph McMullen was more than a longtime Legion member and leader — he was part of the heart of the Brockville Legion. For years, he dedicated himself to Branch #96 with loyalty, humour, compassion, and a kind of quiet strength that made everyone around him feel welcome. Whether you knew him for decades or had only met him once, Ralph had a way of making people feel like they belonged.
He gave so much of himself to this Branch and the people in it. He worked hard, cared deeply, and somehow always managed to make people laugh, even on difficult days. Ralph could hold people accountable while still making them feel respected and valued. He checked in on people when they needed it most, offered support without needing recognition, and created friendships that will last far beyond his time with us.
Simply put, Ralph was loved by everyone at the Brockville Legion.
The halls of Branch #96 will not feel the same without his voice, his laughter, and his presence. His impact on this Legion and the community is impossible to measure.
We send our deepest condolences to Ralph’s family and loved ones. Thank you for sharing him with all of us for so many years.
Rest easy, Ralph. We will miss you deeply, and you will never be forgotten.
