September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the entire family is affected. At Central Plains Cancer Services, we want families in our region to be able to focus on what matters most — their child.

Through our Care for Kids Fighting Cancer Program, we provide financial assistance for expenses such as mileage, parking and meals for cancer centre visits, hotel stays, medications, interruption of wages and other costs that can arise during treatment.

When a family is facing the fight of their lives, the last thing they should have to worry about is the financial burden.

If you know a child in the Central Plains Region facing a cancer diagnosis, please tell their family about CPCS and the support available to them.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Central Plains Cancer Services over the years. When you donate to CPCS, you are helping families right here in our region whose child is facing a cancer diagnosis. Your generosity helps ease some of the financial worries during an already overwhelming time and allows families to focus on what matters most — being there for their child. Because of the kindness of our community, we are able to be there when local families need us most. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making that possible.

This fall, our Wellness Wednesday series is going back to something simple: nature. You don't need special equipment, a fitness routine or hours of free time to benefit from being outdoors. Over the next four weeks, we'll share simple ways to slow down, step outside, move your body and find a little peace in the natural world around us.

We were pleased to be included in the MacGregor Ladies Golf Tournament. Karen Faurchou, one of our Community Facilitators, was on hand chatting about sun safety. We hope everyone had a great day on the course.
