Our community became a voice for bail reform and sentencing over a year ago, joining others across the country in advocating for change. On June 15th, this Bill finally passed Royal Ascent, marking over 80 clauses of targeted changes to the Criminal Code, the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) and the National Defence Act.

What Bill C-14 Means for Portage la Prairie

- Tougher bail rules for repeat violent offenders
- Greater consideration of public safety in bail decisions
- Stronger support for RCMP and law enforcement
- Harsher penalties for organized retail theft and repeat offenders

'The Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada (CCEC) is proud to announce the release of its second annual ranking of Canada’s fastest growing Chambers, celebrating the remarkable success, resilience, and growing impact of Chambers of Commerce across the country.

The ranking, organized across four categories based on membership size, is part of CCEC’s annual research on membership trends. 156 Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade from across Canada completed the survey, which found that membership growth remains strong across the Chamber Network - 67.3% of participating Chambers reported an increase in membership, with a national average
membership retention rate of 88.8%.
