Kids are curious, lovable and hilarious. They are also wild, impatient and vulnerable. Help us look out for kids in Port Stanley and around the world.

o help children around the world. Some popular projects that help kids include installing reading rooms in schools, packing backpacks with school supplies and programs that teach skills or provide safety lessons. The members of this new Kiwanis club will look at the needs of children in the community and decide the projects that will benefit local kids.

The Kiwanis Club of Port Stanley is happy to support the Port Stanley Poppy Project with a donation of $500.00 to be used towards the expansion of the poppy project. The unique poppy displays located throughout the Village in early November are a beautiful way to honour our Veterans and the sacrifices that were ultimately made by so many. Kiwanian Colleen Gemmell was happy to present the donation to Kathy Howarth and some of the many ladies involved in this project.

We are pleased to announce that the winner of our sold out Dinner and Theatre Package Raffle is Jennifer Curtis, Ticket No. 292. We appreciate everyone who supported our club by purchasing a ticket. A very special thank you to new Port Stanley resident Trish MacKinnon for pulling the winning ticket on Friday evening, May 1st at the Port Stanley Legion.

Port Stanley Kiwanis members Kathryn Kenney, Pauline Barton and Colleen Gemmell were at the berm on Earth Day to present the ECO Class with rakes and a weeder to help make their work easier. The many community members who came out to help the students plant 500 shrubs were greeted with a smile by River and Payton. The enthusiasm of the kids for the 200 Trees project is really nice to see and Port Stanley Kiwanis Club members are happy to support these students.
