You know what we're thankful for this Thanksgiving?

The incredible local charities and community organizations that make Scugog such a great place to call home.

Behind every one of them are people giving their time, energy, and resources to make life a little better for others. Much of that work happens quietly, without the recognition it deserves.

So let's give them some recognition!

Tag a local charity or community organization you're thankful for in the comments. Let's shine a little light on the people doing great things in our community.

From all of us at 100 Men of Scugog, Happy Thanksgiving!

Curious about 100 Men of Scugog?

We'll be at the Port Perry Farmers' Market tomorrow. Come say hello, meet a few of the guys, ask questions, and find out what we're all about.

We're a pretty informal bunch, despite what our apparently well-funded marketing department would have you believe.

And for the record, we don't actually have uniforms. Or a marketing department.

See you Saturday!

A CHALLENGE TO THE MEN RUNNING FOR OFFICE IN SCUGOG

If you’re willing to put your name on a ballot because you care about this community, we’d love to see you put your name on the 100 Men sign-in sheet too.

So here’s our challenge to every male candidate running in Scugog:

Join us at 100 Men Scugog on October 21.

No speeches. No campaigning. No politics.

Just bring $100, hear from three local charities, cast your vote alongside everyone else, and help us try to break our $7,100 single-meeting record.

And if we can get all of you in one room at the same time, we’re absolutely taking a group photo. Maybe a group hug, we'll see.

Consider yourselves officially challenged.

We’ve got a record to break!

We raised $6,800 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Durham at our July meeting — just shy of our pre-COVID record of $7,100.

So this October, we’re going after it.

Bring a buddy. Let’s break the record.

Every point on this graph tells a story.

COVID changed a lot of things, including our membership and the amount we were able to give back to our community. But instead of accepting that as the new normal, we've been rebuilding—one meeting, one member, and one donation at a time.

It's encouraging to look back and see the progress we've made. Even more exciting is realizing we're not there yet.

Our goal is simple:

100 Men. $10,000. Every meeting.

That's a room full of local men making an immediate difference for North Durham, four times a year.

Our next meeting is in October. Put it in your calendar now. Better yet, invite a friend. The fastest way to reach 100 men is for each of us to bring one more.

Let's keep the line moving up.

Another great 100 Men of Scugog meeting in the books.

Congratulations to Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Durham, who were selected by our membership to receive this meetings donation.

We raised $6,400 last night, with more still expected as members who couldn't attend continue to drop off their donations at Homestead Furniture.

Special thank you to North House and Lake Scugog Historical Society for taking the time to present. Every one of them is making a meaningful difference in our community, and hearing their stories is always one of the highlights of the evening.

Thank you to Port Perry Legion for graciously hosting us!

Thank you to everyone who attended and continues to support the work of 100 Men Scugog. It's inspiring to see what a group of people can accomplish when they come together for the benefit of our community.

We'll see everyone again at our next meeting in October.
