Hope you can make it out tomorrow for our last milk bag matting workshop until the fall. Now that we are getting better weather, we are wrapping up an amazing year of accomplishment! Thank you to all that have made this work. We have donated numerous completed mats to Backdoor Missions and have also inspired other groups in Durham to get started on this. Stop in and check us out!

Hey everyone, why not put away those hats and mitts and join in on the community in helping others by making milk bag mats. These mats are in high demand worldwide! If you can cut, sort, flatten, loop or weave the milk bag strips, we could use your help. High school students looking for community hours are welcome too.

Biannual Waste Diversion Event - Less than a week away! We hope you have been collecting... please see the list!
Now we have a special surprise this Saturday at the Waste Diversion Event - PUPPIES! Specifically, puppies in training to be Dogguides! The most honoured and recognized career for our four-legged besties! Come stop by and hear how these pups will change the lives of others for the better. Information about the annual Port Perry Petvalu Walk for Dogguides and foster puppy parent opportunities right here in Scugog. Don't forget your footwear discards and other recycling - See you there!

LAST CALL - We now have a limited supply of dark and milk chocolate solid Lions Easter Bunnies for sale, available for pickup on Tuesday, March 24th at Port Perry Scout Hall, lower level, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Prices are $7 each or 2 for $12. This is a great price, great chocolate (Donini's - Belleville) and a great way to support the community services we provide as volunteers. The Port Perry Walk for Dog Guides is back for 2026 — and we can’t wait to come together as a community once again to support this incredible cause.

This family-friendly, dog-friendly event helps raise funds to provide life-changing Dog Guides to Canadians living with physical, medical, and neurological disabilities. Over the years, our local walk has raised nearly $200,000 — and we’re just getting started.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us for a meaningful and fun morning by the waterfront.

The bunnies are in! We have a limited supply of Dark Chocolate and Milk Chocolate Lions Easter bunnies, 175 grams each, made in Belleville, Ontario at the Donini Chocolate Factory. These fine chocolate bunnies are $7 each or 2 for $12. You can place a reserve order to pick up on Tuesday March 24th at the Port Perry Scout Hall between 6:30 and 7:30 pm by emailing us at [email protected]. We will also have a limited supply of white chocolate Easter bunnies (smaller, 80 grams) for $4.50 each on hand. To avoid disappointment, please email us asap. Thank you for your support. Cash at pickup. Delivery can be arranged for a small fee (please email address)
This particular fundraiser enables us to continue to support our Youth through donations to bursaries at Port Perry High School, Operation Scugog Foodbank, Sleeping Children around the World, vision screening and other programs.

SAVE the Date: This coming Tuesday, we welcome Amy Maebrae-Waller from Lakeridge Health Port Perry to share her knowledge and advice about strokes - something that can affect anyone at any age. Learn what to do, what a stroke is, how you can help a loved one recover and how to minimize your risks in having a stroke.
This is a FREE event. We will accept donations to Operation Scugog Foodbank.

Come on over and join in on a community project! All ages welcome, we are making milk bag mats for a local outreach centre. You can sort, cut, loop or weave milk bags all while visiting with neighbours and new-found friends. If you are earning high school community volunteer hours, we can sign for those too. Free event, no pressure, just doing good for someone else :) Hope to see you there!

Hmmmm... thinking ahead to spring and summer? We are! Join us this coming Tuesday for a fun and interesting evening, learning about Camp Scugog and all it has to offer! This is a free event, open to all. Free hot chocolate/coffee and s'mores.
Please remove wet footwear at the entrance to the hall.
