Wondering what we've been up to? Our Lions have been busy helping in the community, celebrating our service and we have a new Board of Directors. Heading up our new board this year, is President Lion Shawn Johnson, an Elder of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island and resident. Shawn is spearheading the development of a chapter of the Canadian Council of the Blind for the Scugog area. This will provide an opportunity for advocacy for those with visual impairments, focused social events and much more. Our club will be helping with this development as Vision Support remains one of our main focuses. Please email [email protected] for more information.

Hope you can make it out tomorrow for our last milk bag matting workshop until the fall. Now that we are getting better weather, we are wrapping up an amazing year of accomplishment! Thank you to all that have made this work. We have donated numerous completed mats to Backdoor Missions and have also inspired other groups in Durham to get started on this. Stop in and check us out!

Hey everyone, why not put away those hats and mitts and join in on the community in helping others by making milk bag mats. These mats are in high demand worldwide! If you can cut, sort, flatten, loop or weave the milk bag strips, we could use your help. High school students looking for community hours are welcome too.

Biannual Waste Diversion Event - Less than a week away! We hope you have been collecting... please see the list!
Now we have a special surprise this Saturday at the Waste Diversion Event - PUPPIES! Specifically, puppies in training to be Dogguides! The most honoured and recognized career for our four-legged besties! Come stop by and hear how these pups will change the lives of others for the better. Information about the annual Port Perry Petvalu Walk for Dogguides and foster puppy parent opportunities right here in Scugog. Don't forget your footwear discards and other recycling - See you there!
