This BC Seniors' Week, we celebrate the nurses who provide compassionate, specialized care to older adults across British Columbia.

Through the Carol Mae Acton Memorial Bursary, RNFBC supports nurses pursuing advanced education in Senior Complex Care, helping strengthen the skills and expertise needed to care for our province's growing senior population.

Established through a generous bequest from Carol Acton's estate, this bursary honours her legacy by investing in nurses who are committed to improving the quality of life, dignity, and well-being of seniors.

RNFBC BURSARY APPLICATION

OPENING JUNE 15, 2026

RNFBC is pleased to announce that applications for the 2026 Bursary Program will open on June 15, 2026. Once again, there is no application fee, making it easier for eligible nursing students and nurses across British Columbia to apply.

This year, we will award more than 650 bursaries, each valued at a minimum of $1,500. Based on previous years, applicants have approximately a 1 in 5 chance of receiving funding. We are deeply grateful to the BC Ministry of Health and RNFBC’s generous donors for making this level of support possible.

Our goal is to reach and support as many nursing students and nurses as possible as they pursue education to advance their practice. In addition, RNFBC supports a variety of accredited certification programs including those recognized by BCCNM or provided by CNA.

We encourage you to share this opportunity widely with your students and networks. Please remind applicants to carefully review and complete the first page of the

application form, as incomplete or incorrect submissions will not be considered.

Follow us on social media for updates and key application reminders.

🌍 Today, we join the global community in recognizing World Health Day, a reminder that strong, healthy communities start with access to care, trusted science, and dedicated health professionals.

This year’s theme, “Together for health. Stand with science,” highlights the power of collaboration and evidence-based care in building a healthier future for all.

At RNFBC, we celebrate nurses and health leaders who advance care, improve outcomes, and strengthen our health systems every day.
💙 Together, we stand for health.
💙 Together, we stand with science.
