What. A. Night!

When you heard that Ken was down and out, you showed up. (We heard he is doing well in recovery. He is up and walking, resting as needed.)

When we said there would be 8 on a team, you showed up.

When we said there would be baked good, you showed up.

The funds raised tonight is a direct reflection on our community and all of your generosity. Never before have we seen a plate of cookies go for so much. Granted they are Theresa’s shortbread cookies, and they are well worth their weight in gold. We don’t have a total for you, since we still need to add in all the e-transfers, but you have raised more than $6000 for Ken.

There was 34 teams. Our next yet! We had to set up extra tables and we got cozy with our neighbours.

Now for the standings.

1st 🥇 place - 84 points - Sponge-Worthy
2nd 🥈 place - 80.5 points - Dire Straights
3rd 🥉 place - 78 points - a tie between Here to Get Basted and Kristine and the Greys

Our next trivia is on November 14th. It’s an all music trivia nights. A sequel to our last music night. The proceeds will be going to support Christmas Daddies (which in turns supports kids in our area).

Well folks, there’s one more week to go until trivia. We have a few bits of news we’d like to share.

First: we now can accept e-transfers. If you were hoping to attend or donate, but can’t make it, you can send a donation to [email protected] . If you send a donation, please include in the message that it’s in support of this month’s cause. This month we are raising funds to help support Ken Ferguson as he recovers from surgery.

Second: Darlene Praught will have a bake sale at this week’s event. She says that some items are to be sold, and others are going to be auctioned. So, there’s a chance that even if you don’t come first at trivia, you can still go home a winner! Perhaps a nice dessert for the holidays? 🥧

Third: minors are welcomed to attend. There are bar services available. Ergo, they must have an adult present in the building and leave by 10pm (as per liquor license rules). Not to worry, trivia is over before then anyhow.

Fourth: if you didn’t see, we have upped our max team size for the weekend. We can now accept 8 per team. So gather up your friends and family! Don’t forget your university students! Surely they are learning something that will be useful on Saturday night.

As always, the canteen will be opened. 50/50 tickets available. Good laughs are all but guaranteed. Cash only at the venue - though the laughs are on the house.

Our next trivia night is October 10th. Funds raised will be donated to Ken Ferguson and family.

It’s Thanksgiving weekend, and we know there will be family travelling in and students home from university. It’s the perfect activity for you to do as a group - or split up to see who is smartest. We did raise the max size of a team to 8 people for the occasion.

Don’t forget: the canteen will be open 30ish minutes before trivia so you can come early for a smash burger. It’s good brain food!
Also, minors are welcomed to attend granted that they have an accompanying adult and leave by 10pm (as per the liquor licence’s rules)

1st place 🥇 - TBD - 73.5 points
2nd place 🥈 - Red Algae - 73 points
