Last night Community Links (North Island Community Services Society) won ‘Not for profit’ of the year at the Port Hardy Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards

We are truly humbled and grateful to be recognized for the work we do, but we know that this achievement is not just ours—it’s a reflection of the wonderful people we serve and the amazing community that supports them.

At Community Links, our mission has always been clear: to empower people with disabilities and show the world that they can do anything. This award is a testament to the progress we’ve made together—breaking barriers, challenging perceptions, and helping our participants realize their full potential.

But this journey wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our staff, volunteers, partners, and of course, the families of those we serve. You’ve all been instrumental in creating an environment where everyone is valued, capable, and has the opportunity to thrive.

What makes this award so special is that it reflects a broader shift in how our community sees individuals with disabilities. It’s not just about what they can’t do—it’s about celebrating everything they can do, and the incredible contributions they make to our community. We are proud to be part of a movement that is shifting perspectives and showing that when given the right support, there are no limits to what our participants can achieve.

This recognition is not the end of the road for us, but rather a reminder of how much work still lies ahead. We remain committed to creating more inclusive spaces, breaking down more barriers, and inspiring more people to see the abilities in every individual, not just the challenges.

Thank you to everyone who believes in our mission, who has worked tirelessly alongside us ( you know who you are❤️), and who sees the true potential in each of our participants. This award belongs to all of you, and together, we’ll continue to build a community where everyone can live, learn, and succeed.
