Summer heat means more patience, more water, and more realistic reps. It is not the season for pushing too hard or pretending your dog should perform like itโs a breezy spring morning when itโs actually hot enough to melt your brain and your motivation.
Thatโs the time to shorten sessions, choose cooler times of day, build in breaks, and keep the training practical instead of flashy. A dog that can still think clearly in the heat is learning real skills, not just surviving a workout.
So yes, bring the water, lower the expectations a little, and focus on quality reps that your dog can actually handle. Summer is a great teacher, but only if you listen to it.
