ACCESS YOUTH OUTREACH SERVICES Connecting youth aged 12 – 23 with street outreach, mental wellness, and one-on-one support.

ACCESS Youth Outreach Services Society is a "youth specific”, award-winning registered charity established in 1993. We run a mobile outreach centre - The Bus - staffed with outreach workers that travels the TriCity area late at night, looking for youth at risk. Right there on the street, we give out food, water, warm clothes, harm reduction supplies, and sexual health supplies. Our outreach worker

s provide connections to counselling, employment services and substance-use programs. We also offer programs that proactively increase mental wellness in youth. Our Youth GourMade initiative send out dozens of meal kits every week to so that youth can learn to cook healthy, delicious meals for their families. The Art Journaling Group is an afterschool program combines artistic expression with a facilitated discussion around important topics like healthy boundaries, online safety and positive self-image.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Summer BBQ!

We were so happy to bring together our Access Youth family from across our different programs and teams for an evening of good food, great conversation, and time spent together outside of our usual work.

From Project ReachOut, Youth Empowerment & Family Strengthening to Art Journaling, and Youth Gour-Made, each of our programs plays an important role in supporting young people in our community, and it was so special to have the people behind all of that work together in one place.

Thank you to our incredible staff, board members, and volunteers for everything you do to make Access Youth what it is. We’re so grateful for our Access Youth family!

We’ve officially wrapped up our first Art Journaling Group summer session! As July comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the creativity, courage, and connection that our youth demonstrated in each session.

Over the past few weeks, Art Journaling Group explored many themes such as relationships, nature, family, and transitions. We explored many art forms, from music, fidget boards, painting, and crafts to agamographs. Every piece created told a unique story, and it was inspiring to watch each youth’s creativity come to life.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this session so special. We can't wait to welcome everyone to our August sessions! For those who we won’t see, we look forward to connecting again in the future!
