But awareness doesn’t end with September.

For the children fighting, the families beside them, and the children we carry in our hearts—we will continue to remember, support and help.

Sometimes support isn’t about fixing anything.

It’s about showing up.

Listening.

Helping with the practical things.

Reminding a family that they don’t have to carry everything alone.

That is what community is about.

It's sometimes hard to explain what it feels like to live with the fear and anxiety that sits with us for years, decades, or even a lifetime after a childhood cancer diagnosis. Along the way, we might learn how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable, and things can look or feel somewhat balanced again. Those are great moments.

Other times, something happens that reminds us of the pain, shock and hurt that came with the initial diagnosis. Those feelings live just beneath the surface of our everyday lives. In September we raise awareness as a community because we know childhood cancer isn't just a diagnosis, it's a life-changing, life-threatening, and life-altering event for the entire family.
