💕 Meet Josie — a very special girl looking for her forever home! 🐾
This is Josie. She was born on August 10, 2025, after her very pregnant mother was rescued from a hoarding situation and placed in a loving foster home. Josie and her three siblings were born safely the very next day.
When Josie was just 8 weeks old, she and her siblings went to the vet for their first examinations and vaccinations. During that visit, Josie was diagnosed with a severe heart murmur.
Despite her diagnosis, Josie has always been a happy, playful little girl! She showed no signs of heart trouble and spent her days running, playing, and enjoying life alongside her siblings. Eventually, all of her siblings found their forever homes—but sweet Josie is still waiting for hers.
We continue to monitor Josie closely. Earlier this year, she developed a serious uterine infection called pyometra, which made surgery necessary. Because of her heart condition, we carefully researched the safest option for her surgery. Josie was taken to Pet Nation in Toronto, where she was successfully spayed on June 5, 2026.
We are thrilled to share that Josie came through her surgery with flying colours!
Josie is now taking Pimobendan for her heart and will need to remain on this medication. Her future family will need to understand and be committed to caring for her ongoing heart-health needs.
The amazing thing about Josie is that she still shows no signs of being unwell. She runs, plays, eats well, and absolutely loves cuddles!
Josie is a sweet, loving girl who has overcome so much in her young life. All she needs now is a special forever family willing to give her the love and care she deserves.
