A huge thank you to the Old Imperial Farmers' Market for choosing Helping Paws Rescue as the beneficiary of this month’s quarter auction.

Thanks to this incredible community, we raised $999, which will go directly toward the care of dogs like Raven, who is currently fighting through complications after surgery.

Your support truly makes a difference when our dogs need it most. We are so grateful and hope to work together again in the future.

UPDATE: 5:19 pm
Raven’s belly is full of urine due to a tear in her bladder. She is a very sick pup. She will need surgery to repair the bladder and then the issues the urine is causing need to be dealt with as well. Estimated costs at this time are $10, 000.

She is currently at the VCA Canada London Regional Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital after having a golf ball sized kidney stone removed on Tuesday. Unfortunately, something isn’t right. Raven is lethargic, not eating, vomiting, and showing signs of significant abdominal pain.

Our hearts are heavy watching her go through this. When it rains, it really does pour.

If you have a moment, please say a little prayer for Raven. She needs all the strength she can get right now.

Transformation Tuesday
Meet our sweet little Betty Boop. She is a 5 (soon to be 6) year old Boxer who has been a puppy factory machine until just recently. Poor Betty had to have emergency surgery, after giving birth to a stillborn puppy, to remove a ruptured mammary tumour and an infected uterus. The pictures are very graphic and I did not post here. However Betty required over 25 stitches to put her back together and some fancy vet work to get her skin to stretch back into place. But Betty's got the spring back in her step and she is becoming the comedic Boxer that she was meant to be, zoomies, nose boops, snores, t***s, 'roaching', wiggle butts and all!! Boxers are basically comedians in dog form. They’re lovable chaos with a ton of personality, and a lot of their traits end up being unintentionally hilarious!
Betty is a perfect lady in the house, totally housetrained (will try to steal extra food and treats if left to her own devices), sleeps through the night, quiet and snuggly. Outside she loves to bounce around and follow you everywhere. She loves people of all ages, she's good with cats. We have WINNER in our name contest! Meet RAVEN!

Our sweet little Raven is in surgery today to remove a golf ball-sized bladder stone… in a tiny 10 lb body.

We’re hopeful this will bring her so much relief and a much better quality of life, but it’s a heavy reminder of what so many of these dogs endure before they ever make it to rescue.

The neglected. The forgotten. The ones who were never given the care they deserved.

This is the reality of rescue, and it’s never easy.

If you are in a position to help, we would be incredibly grateful for any donation toward Raven’s surgery and recovery. Every dollar truly makes a difference.

I’m a fetch-obsessed, water-loving, professional snuggler who believes snacks fix most problems. I’m super smart (I know my basic commands 💅), house trained, and working hard on my leash manners… growth is attractive, right?

✔ Other dogs (must have a bestie)
✔ Kids (older ones who can handle my enthusiasm)
✔ Toys, water, and zoomies
✔ Following you everywhere like your slightly clingy shadow

Fun fact: I used to be a counter surfer, but I’ve retired from that life and now wait politely for my meals like a gentleman.
