Words can’t even explain how tonight went and the incredible turnout we had! ❤️
The House of Gathering was absolutely packed — almost potlatch style! It was amazing to see so many people come together to sing, dance, learn, visit, and support one another.
A huge thank you to everyone who came out tonight. Whether you joined in the singing and dancing or simply came to watch and spend time with community, your presence made the evening special.
Klecko, klecko to our relatives from Tseshaht First Nation and Huu-ay-aht First Nations for bringing chumus and water and helping support the gathering. It means so much to see our Nations coming together in such a good way.
The energy in the room was incredible, and it was wonderful to see so many youth, families, Elders, singers, drummers, dancers, and community members filling the hall.
Keep an eye out for information on our next practice location for this Thursday. We can't wait to do it all again!

The City of Port Alberni is calling on the community for one last push in its bid to secure the starring role in HGTV’s Home Town Takeover Canada this summer.

Klecko to the City of Port Alberni Local Government for standing together with Hupačasath and Tseshaht First Nation in support of maintaining the fire prohibition.
We appreciate the support, partnership, and shared commitment to keeping our communities safe.

🔥 Complete Fire Ban Remains in Effect in Port Alberni

Due to recent wildfire activity in our area, and in alignment with our partners at Tseshaht First Nation and Hupačasath First Nation the City of Port Alberni will continue the complete fire ban currently in place.

Allowed devices:
CSA- or ULC-approved cooking stoves and portable campfire devices using gas, propane, briquettes, liquid fuel, or gaseous fuel are permitted only if the flame height is less than 15 cm (6 inches).

Thank you for doing your part to help keep our community safe.

🚫🔥 COMMUNITY NOTICE – FIRE PROHIBITION REMAINS IN EFFECT 🔥🚫

We have received several questions regarding the Provincial fire ban changes for the May Long Weekend.

Please be advised that although the Coastal Fire Centre may be allowing some Category 1 campfires in certain areas, BOTH Hupačasath and Tseshaht Chief & Council have made the decision to maintain our OWN fire prohibition on our reserve lands and territories UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

This means that ALL fires remain prohibited on Hupačasath reserve lands, including:

❌ Campfires
❌ Backyard Fires
❌ Smokehouses
❌ Category 2 Fires
❌ Category 3 Fires
❌ Fireworks

This decision was made to help protect our people, homes, forests, wildlife, and neighbouring communities from the risk of wildfire.

We ask everyone to please respect the decision of Chief & Council and help spread the word to family members, visitors, and those who may not be on social media.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe.
