Hugginz & Dahlia Hugginz by Angel was founded by Angel Magnussen, as means to achieve her dream of nursing sick children, by wrapping them in warm hugs.

Angel's dream of opening a home bake shop was realized in 2025 when we started Dahlia Market. I am on a very important mission to help sick kids and kids with special needs in British Columbia, Canada. I have currently surpassed the $330K fundraising mark for various charities. I fundraise for Variety the Children's Charity of BC, BC Childrens Hospital Foundation, The Relay for Life, Cops for Canc

er, The Lions Foundation Of Canada Dog Guides, the Ride to Conquer Cancer and for many families that have critically ill children. I want to help sick kids to not be scared when they are in the hospital and to help them have the best medical treatment so they can go home from hospital to be with their families. I know hospitals well and I truly understand what its like to go through multiple medical treatments, surgeries and testing. I was born with an extra 21st chromosome and have many medical issues. But I don't let one bit of it stop me, in fact, it's my motivator to help other children who hurt. My work through Hugginz By Angel was recently featured Nationwide on CTV's WEDAY Special. I was named the 2012 Scotiabank Game Changer at the 100th Grey Cup game in Toronto and I won $100,000 to donate to Variety the children's charity of BC. I was presented the Queen Elizabeth 2 Diamond Jubilee Medal in January 2013 and in March 2015 the Canadian Down Syndrome Society named me one of their Super Six Heroes. I am so proud of the work I do to help sick kids and kids with special needs. In January 2014 Variety International named me a 2014 International Youth Ambassador. In July 2014 Telus chose my submission as their main prize and awarded me with my own so I can sew for sick kids every day. Please go to givewherewelive.ca to watch my video Canada's Warmest Hug. In August 2016 I was named the Post Foods Canada Search For Goodness winner and won $10,000 which I donated to Hugginz By Angel. Hugginz By Angel is a non profit organization. I make love filled blankets for teens, kids and babies. I want to make sure that every sick child is wrapped up in a warm hug.

Angel & I gifted several boxes of our Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies and our Toffee Chip Cookies to the Town of Ponoka works crew and their office staff. The cookies were a great hit and were well enjoyed!! We even received a beautiful email from Rebecca who stated that these were the best cookies she had ever tasted.
We use browned butter in all of our cookies. Our Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies also contain 3 kinds of chocolate, white, milk and butterscotch chips. Team Hugginz we need your help. Angel has sewn all of these beautiful Hugginz blankets and will be donating them to Ronald McDonald House this coming week. We are planning to keep one to sell in our Hugginz & Dahlia store, with the funds raised going towards fabric for Angel to sew more Hugginz blankets for critically ill, and chronically ill, children across Canada. Please help us choose the blanket that we should sell in our store. The sale of last week's RCMP/Canada themed Hugginz blanket raised $175 towards fabric so we are hoping we can continue to do well with blanket sales and keep supporting Angel's mission of wrapping sick kids in warm hugs. We will number the blanket photos and ask you to put a heart on your absolute favorite ones. There are 3 photos of each blanket, front, back and being given a hug. ❤️ we also added a few pictures of the hearts that Angel quilts into each blanket, there are 4 in each blanket, and they are all stitched in with love. Also, we would love the donation of a beautiful rack for Angel to display her quilts on in her store. We can be reached via text at 2507313927 if you are able to help us out with this. Angel's Canadian/RCMP tribute Hugginz blanket sold in record time!! The blanket is heading to it's new home today. We know it will be well loved and enjoyed. ❤️

The money raised through the sale of this Hugginz blanket will go towards the purchase of fabric for Angel to make her loved filled blankets for 2 little boys who are each fighting huge ongoing battles with chronic and critical illnesses. If you would like to help Angel in her mission of wrapping sick kids in warm hugs we would gratefully accept your donations of new flannel or cotton prints in fun patterns that kids would love. we are hoping you can help us. Angel has received a request to create a Hugginz blanket for 4 year old Nash who is battling leukemia. Every blanket that Angel sews has the specific child in mind and she wants their blanket to reflect their most favorite things. Angel would like to find a large cotton panel of Spiderman, Bluey or Mario for Nash's blanket. We are too new to Alberta to know where we can find such fabric within Central AB. If you happen to know of affordable quilting stores that carry large panels and licensed prints please tag them in this post so that we can check them out.

Angel & I are proud to announce that Hugginz & Dahlia Market is now open, by appointment only, at 2507313927. Angel has been busy crocheting baby hats, toques for kids, and kitchen wash cloths. She has an array of her art cards, perfect for any occasion as well as craft kits for kids to peruse. We also have been busy making and trialing pizza mix and pancake mix and we think you will absolutely love them. We have the most wonderful whipped tallow as well as some super cute home decor. Our Sourdough Maple Pecan Granola is absolutely incredible and a must try. Angel is also selling one of her Hugginz blankets, this one has a Canadian/RCMP theme.
