📅 On this Wednesday of National AccessAbility week, NIDMAR is focusing on the CDMP designation and the role it plays in theme of this year: “Building a Strong, Accessible Canada.”

The CDMP designation equips professionals with the knowledge, skills, and practical judgment needed to support workers through injury, illness, and disability. The designation provides a strong foundation in early intervention, occupational rehabilitation, and coordinating return‑to‑work plans that work for both the employee and the employer.

This speaks directly to the focus of National AccessAbility Week, as CDMPs contribute to building a strong, accessible Canada by ensuring that workers with disabilities are supported, accommodated, and able to remain in the workforce.

📅 This year, Canadians are celebrating National AccessAbility from May 31 to June 6, 2026. The theme for 2026 is an important one: “Building a Strong, Accessible Canada.”

Thus, on this Tuesday of National AccessAbility Week, we at NIDMAR reflect on the important role employers play in removing barriers and supporting employees who experience illness, injury, or disability.

As you may have seen from previous posts, our work and our partnership with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) strengthens our commitment to helping organizations strengthen their workplace disability management practices and better support employees throughout their return-to-work journey. Thus, contributing to a more accessible Canada for everyone.

One way employers can take meaningful action is through a confidential Workplace Disability Management Assessment. These assessments help organizations evaluate their disability management, accommodation, and return-to-work practices, enabling them to retain skilled workers, reduce disability-related costs, and create more supportive and accessible workplaces.

For organizations considering an assessment, 2026 marks the final year for BC employers to access grant funding for a confidential Workplace Disability Management Assessment. https://www.nidmar.ca/news/full_story.asp?fid=300
