[email protected] Every year we are involved in many projects and we are always looking for new ideas or ways to improve the old! Here are a few things that our organization is involved with:
>Canadian blood donor clinics. Helping to direct donors and serve them refreshments after their blood donat

ion.
>Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre. Every November we take cake and serve it to the long term care patients.
>Ronald McDonald House. We prepare a meal for families staying at the house.
> Sommer's Garden (Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre). We gather donated flowers and have a work bee to plant flowers and clean up the garden area.
>Done in a Day projects. In recent years we have organized small scale projects that immediately give back to the community. For example we help at the food bank and the Sommer's Garden planting.
>Community Donations. We are proud to give back to our community through donations to a variety of causes such as the School lunch program, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Community Christmas, The Ponoka Youth Centre and the Centennial Centre to name a few.
>Graduation Bursary. Our club sponsors a $500 bursary.
>Casino. we work a casino with AGLC in Red Deer every 3 years to raise money for our club that we give back to the community through our various projects and activities. Other Completed Projects
>Ponoka Splash Park- We collaborated with the Town, County, Lions, and Kinsmen clubs to build the splash park.
>Panda Warmer- We held a fundraiser to help with the purchase of a new Panda Warmer for the labor and delivery unit at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre

Today we made brunch at Ronald McDonald House Red Deer.
Ronald McDonald House is a temporary "home-away-from-home" that provides accommodation for families with critically ill or injured children that are receiving treatment at near by hospitals.
Not only did we serve a nutritious meal but we had some good conversations and learned more about the amazing supports and programs that are available to families in their time of need. 💕

From May 28th to 30th, the Kinsmen and Kinettes of Alberta and part of British Columbia convened in Stettler for our annual general conference. A total of 250 attendees participated in various service projects throughout the weekend, contributing to the community's well-being. The group constructed five new picnic tables, refurbished existing ones through cleaning and painting, maintained community gardens and green spaces, and assisted the Heartland youth group in preparation for their fundraiser, ultimately donating $5,300. Additionally, the attendees engaged with seniors through card games and bingo, donated 161 pounds of food to the local food bank, and contributed $350 to STARS. By hosting the conference in Stettler, our organization aimed to make a positive impact on the community, which proved to be friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.

We would like to acknowledge and express our gratitude to our senior citizens in the community this week. In support of their mobility, we have contributed $500 to provide complimentary rides on the in-town handivan service, facilitating their access to desired destinations. Happy Seniors Week, we value your presence! Seniors Week is annually observed in Alberta during the first full week of June, specifically from June 1 to June 7 in 2026, in appreciation of the invaluable contributions older adults make to local communities.
