How we fulfill our Mission:
Working to improve availability and access to food, Corbeille de Pain/ Bread Basket Lac-Saint-Louis serves vulnerable citizens in the south of the West Island, especially those living below the poverty line, through:
- Kitchen and food skills development and training
- Provision of health and food education
- Helping people access food and health resources
- Reduction
of social isolation
Activities that support our Mission:
- Community kitchens
- Public education on nutrition
- Community gardens
- Development of partnerships with other community groups, local growers & merchants to provide nutritious food at low cost
- Collaboration with local and regional individuals and organizations on food issues

Vision:
We would like to see everyone in the West Island eating nutritiously with a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially those living under the poverty line. We would like to see everyone in the Lac-Saint-Louis area, mainly in the West Island south, have enough food at a reasonable cost to be provided in a socially acceptable way with dignity and respect. Values:
The Bread Basket Board of Directors, Food Security Advisory Committee and staff will work diligently in carrying out the mission of the Bread Basket Project and will adhere to the following values:
• Belief in operating in a fair and professional manner.
• Belief in helping all who ask for help personally or through referrals from others.
• Belief in the power of grass roots organizations.
• Belief that everyone deserves to have enough quality and nutritious foods at a reasonable cost to be provided in a socially acceptable manner with dignity and respect.
• Belief in the empowerment of those living under the poverty line to achieve food security for themselves and their families.
• Belief in the social inclusion and well being of all the participants in the activities of the food security project.
