To reach the Pinantan First Responders for medical assistance, please call 911. The call taker will then page our team.

👉 Because dispatchers manually page First Responders, it’s important to ask the call taker to put a “note” to the dispatcher to page Pinantan—otherwise there may be a delay.

⚠️ Please note: The Pinantan First Responders are only dispatched by BCEHS. This process ensures safety for both our team and the community.

🚑 Community Update: Pinantan First Responders

Since September 1, 2025, our local Pinantan First Responders have answered 25 medical calls.

• Each call takes an average of 2 hours and requires at least 2 responders.

• Responders rely on their own personal vehicles and equipment, alongside resources from the Pinantan Fire Brigade.

• Beyond the physical demands, these calls can take a mental and emotional toll on those who serve.

We are deeply grateful for the dedication, compassion, and resilience of our responders. Their commitment ensures our community is cared for in times of need. 💙

Let’s continue to support and thank them for the incredible work they do every day.

When you call 911 for a medical emergency, our Pinantan First Responders should be notified right away. Unfortunately, this is still a manual system, and sometimes dispatch does not send us.

👉 Please remind the call taker that First Responders are available in Pinantan. This simple step helps ensure that trained support reaches you faster.

Our First Responders are licensed medical professionals who:

• Begin immediate medical care
• Assist and support ambulance crews
• Help direct ambulances to your location
• Clear driveways for safe access
• Provide support and clean-up after emergencies

Your reminder can make all the difference in getting timely help when it matters most. 💙

We’re proud to announce that our dedicated team of VOLUNTEER First Responders has officially expanded their scope of practice and are now licensed with the Emergency Medical Licensing Board (EMLB) of British Columbia! This milestone reflects countless hours of advanced training, hands-on practice, and an unwavering commitment to serving our community.

Many may not realize the critical role these volunteers play. When you call 911 they are Dispatched by BCEHS, our First Responders are often the first on scene during local emergencies—providing life-saving care and calm in moments of crisis.

They’re equipped with:

• 💨 Oxygen
• ❤️ AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
• 💊 First-line medications
• 🩺 Skills to assess and manage medical emergencies, spinal injuries, bleeds, burns, and more
• 📊 Ability to assess vital signs including blood pressure and oxygen saturation, heart rate, breathing rate, blood glucose…
