We will have one more Stitchibg Season this Wednesday 5-7pm - come finish your flags or drop them off for our stitching crew to finish them for you!

The final drop off for your pieces is April 1st! The drop box is now up and you can stop by the sr’tudio anytime!
I can’t wait to assemble this years project! With over 30 flags already included it’s going to be epic!

It’s the last Scheduled meet up for the 2025 Society of Stitchers tonight - But have no fear… we have added one more night next Wednesday Feb 26 5-7pm The Department of Illumination studio.

Pieces are flying in - and there some group projects if you would like to add a few stitches. Everyone welcome!

Flag pieces should be returned by April 1st! The Drop Box will be available before and after hours.

Don’t forget to Vote next Thursday! Your voice counts!

We’ll be at the Gather in the County TEXTILE TAKEOVER at Macauley House this Saturday Feb 15 1-4pm - come catch us for a little stitch-a-long in Rev. Macauleys study!
The Whole house will be over run with the Fiber Guilds, textile artists, demonstrations and more!
It’s the perfect Family Day outing!

Are you bored with backstitch? Join us for an embroidery workshop with Lesley Thurston-Brown; a taster session for those looking to expand their stitch stockpile. We’ll experiment with a variety of needlework techniques to add detail & texture to your work.

Lesley Thurston-Brown is a multi-disciplinary artist with a special enthusiasm for embroidery. She uses a variety of historical techniques in service of telling tales & has studied with the Royal School of Needlework & the Embroiderers Association of Canada. Her work is housed within the Museum of Uncommon Phenomena: a roving institution created for the celebration & preservation of the barely believable.

Sunday February 16, 3-5 PM at the DOI Studio.

We start stitching on January 15th!
Come join us and share your Good News! We’re going to be spreading some Revolutionary Optimism around all Winter long!

This winter The Society of Stitchers turns TEN and you’re invited to the party!

SOS is our annual winter embroidery club led by Nella Casson, where we open up our magical studio to the community to gather and get creative. No experience required and all are welcome; kids, too!

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD!
Our theme this year is Revolutionary Optimism, and we’ll be working together to create a joyful bunting, plus there will be some delightful surprises along the way.

January 15 to February 13, Wednesdays & Thursdays 5-7 PM

Your registration fee includes 12 sessions, all supplies & instruction, snacks & tea, good vibes & boundless joy! Come to as many or as few sessions as you’d like.

$40 + HST = $45.20 (that’s less than $4 per session! If this price is a hardship for you, please pay what you can. If you would like to “pay it forward” for another participant to take part at a reduced cost, please indicate at time of payment.)
