🚨 BREAKING: Unreported Shooting and Vehicle Attack in Lynn Heights Neighbourhood Raises Safety Concerns
Pickering, Ontario — October 8, 2025
Details have emerged today about a disturbing and violent incident that took place on Colonial Drive in the early hours of September 27, 2025, in the quiet Lynn Heights neighbourhood. Despite police presence at the scene for several days afterward, no official statement or media coverage has been released by the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).
An anonymous community source has come forward, revealing that several suspicious events led up to the attack, and that residents’ earlier warnings to police went unanswered.
“On or around September 21, two suspicious individuals were caught on a doorbell camera approaching a home with surgical gloves visible in their pockets. One told the other to ‘say trick or treat,’ before laughing and walking back toward a nearby house — the same house that would later be targeted in the shooting,” the source said.
Over the next few days, a black SUV was seen circling the street multiple times, playing loud music and appearing to record homes in the area. Concerned residents called the non-emergency DRPS line on September 23 to report these suspicious activities but were told that officers could not respond unless there was an active emergency. Video footage was also emailed to an officer, but the complainant said no follow-up occurred at that time.
Then, in the early morning hours of September 27, the situation escalated into a terrifying and violent confrontation.
Security cameras captured the following sequence of events around 4:40 a.m.:
• A vehicle circling a home repeatedly
• The sound of a car ramming another vehicle multiple times
• Shouting of “come outside”
• Followed by multiple gunshots and screams as the vehicle sped away
A video seen by this publication — but not shared publicly to protect the privacy of the individual who recorded it — shows an aggressive and prolonged ramming of the vehicle in the driveway over several minutes before the gunfire erupted.
The following day, neighbours confirmed that the two women seen earlier on the doorbell footage were residents of the targeted home.
Photos from the scene show extensive damage to a vehicle and a garage door, with a Durham Regional Police SUV stationed nearby. Officers remained in the area for several days following the incident, yet no canvassing, no resident notifications, and no official updates were issued.
Community Shocked by Silence
Residents say they are frustrated and afraid, calling the lack of communication “unacceptable.”
“Families live here. Children walk to school on this street. We’ve heard nothing from police — no warning, no reassurance, and no request for footage,” the source said. “We deserve to know if we’re safe.”
Unanswered Questions
• Why has there been no public statement or media coverage of this shooting and vehicle-ramming incident?
• Why were neighbours not canvassed for video evidence?
• Why did police not engage with the community while stationed on the street for days?
The Lynn Heights community is asking for transparency, accountability, and reassurance that their safety is a priority.
“This isn’t about one house — it’s about our neighbourhood. We all deserve answers.”
