We have an insulated, organized home! Thank you Dave for all that you do for the pantry!

Our Meal Kit fundraiser was a success! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed time, money and energy to this project.

🤲🏻 Together, we raised $500 to put together 50 meal kits with our local pre-primary class.

🎨These are the sweetest care packages, packed and decorated by 4 & 5 year olds.

🍽️ Meal kits will be restocked daily in the pantry, free to all in our community.

💚 Thank you to Sobeys and Sam’s No Frills in Bridgewater for helping us reach our fundraising goal. Community partnerships help sustain our important work.

If you could use a simple, nourishing meal or know a neighbour who could, come by the pantry to pick up a meal kit.

You can help! Become a monthly subscriber for as little as $5, contribute enough to run a program if you can, or become part of the pantry volunteer crew and get creative alongside us!

Love this project? Great news - we have enough funds left to run a sauerkraut making workshop with local families in Nov (tba) AND exciting plans to continue and grow programs like these.

💵🥫For now, we rely solely on donations to stock the pantry and feed the community in creative ways like this.

The pantry is stocked every morning by our dedicated team of volunteers 🙌🏻🥫🥬💞

The cooler is stocked daily with eggs and any veggies we have in our stores.

On days like today, the cooler is full of fresh veg donations from local gardeners & farmers 🌱💚🍅

Ask us how you can help keep the shelves stocked for our community - whether you have 5 minutes or 5 dollars. ⏰💰

🍲 Meal Kit Donation Drive

Do you want to help feed 50 families in our community and empower future change makers?

We are fundraising to create meal kits in partnership with our local school!

🚌 For this Community Pantry project, local pre-primary children will help create and pack meal kits, which will then be distributed through the Greater Petite Community Pantry.

In Nova Scotia, more than 1 in 4 households experience food insecurity, including 40% of children. We want to help make nutritious food more accessible to families in our rural community.

🥘 What’s in the meal kits?

We’ve developed two delicious, budget-friendly recipes:

🧄 Chickpea Curry
🍜 Tuna Noodle Casserole

Recipe cards will be printed and included with the meal kits so families have everything they need to make the meals at home.

Sending a big thank-you to Mole Hill Farm for donating enough garlic for the project! 🧄💚 We love seeing local farmers supporting their community.

💰 We’re almost there!

We’ve nearly reached our $500 fundraising goal to cover the other ingredients and supplies needed for this project.

Can you help us reach our goal?

To support the Meal Kit Project you can:

💚 Make a financial donation online through Zeffy — link in the comments.

🛒 Donate ingredients at one of our community donation drop-off locations:

• Greater Petite Community Pantry*
• Petite Rivière Elementary School**
• Petite Rivière Veterinarian**
• Fort Point Museum***
• Broad Cove Hall***

*Open 24/7
**Check open hours
***Open during events only

Together, we can fight food insecurity in our community — while inviting our youngest community members to be part of the work. 🌱🍲💚
