WANTED: YWCA Peterborough Haliburton is looking for Community Gardens and Grounds Volunteers

Volunteers will help create a welcoming, vibrant, and safe outdoor space for the community we serve. In spring and summer, they support gardening projects, such as maintaining flowers and vegetables, planting and caring for seasonal flowers, helping improve curb appeal, assisting with small beautification projects. We are looking for caring, hands-on volunteers to help create a welcoming, vibrant, and safe outdoor space for the community we serve who will help and assist with small gardening and outdoor beautification projects.

๐Ÿพ Volunteer with Your Therapy Dog and Bring Joy to Others! ๐Ÿพ

Do you have a calm, friendly dog and a couple of hours a week to spare? Would you enjoy making a difference alongside your four-legged friend?

East Central Therapy Dogs is looking for volunteers and their dogs to visit friends in long-term care homes, retirement residences, PRHC, Hospice, and VON Day Programs. Together, you'll share companionship, comfort, and the unconditional love that only a dog can provide.

Whether it's a wagging tail, a gentle nuzzle, or simply spending time together, therapy dog visits can brighten someone's day in a meaningful way.

To learn more about volunteering and to register for the next dog evaluation, visit www.ectd.ca.

On July 28, Canadian Blood Services will open at our new location in Lansdowne Place and we need more volunteers for additional shifts. Come be part of this exciting development.
Our new clinic hours will be:
Tuesdays: 11:30am-7pm
Wednesdays and Thursdays: 10:30am-6pm
Fridays and Saturdays: 9am-4:30pm

Our volunteers help to make donors feel welcome and comfortable. The care and attention you give is very often a key reason why donors return. As one of the last faces donors see on their way out, you play a critical role in the success of future blood donor clinics. Join us!

Wanted: Volunteer Mural Painters. Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan
Come and help paint a mural before it is mounted on the outer wall of the Otonabee Memorial Community Centre in Keene. This project aims to bring residents together as they create a new landmark.

A design by long-time resident Ellen Cowie will appear on a 24-foot by eight-foot mural. Deeply connected to the farming, sporting, Indigenous and artistic communities, she incorporated all these themes into her design. She moved to Keene from Peterborough in 2019 and delights at being part of this project. We have four time slots available: June 6 & 7, 10 a.m. to noon and 1:30-4 p.m. The artist and painting instructors will guide and inspire painters of any talent level. Organizers provide the painting supplies, but bring your own smock of work clothes in case of messes. Sign up for one or multiple sessions and feel free to bring a friend along. The more the merrier!

Now this sounds like lots of fun!

Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre
Turtle Care volunteers help with the ongoing care (feeding/cleaning) of the injured turtles that are in the rehabilitation process at our centre. Often our turtle patients can spend up to a year in our care as they recover from their injuries. Feeders ensure that each turtle gets an appropriate balanced diet from earth worms, small fish, pellets and leafy greens. Meanwhile, cleaners drain, scrub and refill turtle tanks.
