Skills Link Program

Skills Link Program COIN is a non-profit community economic development corporation and provides effective job training for people with barriers to employment, since 1993.

In a community increasingly limited by poverty, COIN offers hope and practical skills. COIN trains and mentors youth interns and hard-to-place workers through the Job Creation Partnership, Federal Summer Students, and other job-supports. COIN has contracts with the ODSP and OW to provide training, job placement and coaching. COIN's TekDesk enterprise has contracts for computer training with the T

IOW program. The Targeted Initiative for Older Workers (TIOW) provides employment assistance services and employability improvement activities, such as skills upgrading and work experience, to assist unemployed workers aged 55 to 64 with their return to work. COIN also recently completed a successful one-year project with the Status of Women assisting women experiencing violence gain leadership skills and confidence to move beyond violence through peer support groups in multiple and cross-agency collaboration. Community Gears Youth Skills Link program is underway, assisting young members of the community aged 15-30, who have extreme barriers to employment, with skills training and workplace experience.
