This week, we had the privilege of visiting our colleagues at the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland Nova Scotia in Truro. We toured their welcoming program space and learned more about the impactful work they do to support and strengthen their community. These opportunities to connect, share ideas, and learn from one another remind us that collaboration is one of our greatest strengths ❤️ thank you to the amazing team in Truro for so generously sharing your space, insights, and experiences with us. We left inspired by your work 💜

❤️ Thank you The Law Foundation of Ontario! We are honoured to be a part of such an amazing group of organizations ❤️

We were thrilled to welcome representatives from our 33 Catalyst grantees to Toronto for a special gathering. Catalyst is the Foundation’s grant program that provides multi-year core funding to leading access to justice organizations across Ontario. The 4th annual two-day gathering began with a kickoff reception on June 3, followed by a full day on June 4 dedicated to connection, learning, and shared experience. Together, these exceptional nonprofit justice sector leaders explored ideas, challenges, and opportunities shaping access to justice. We know our staff and grantees valued the opportunity to meet, learn from, and inspire one another. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and look forward to the continued impact of these connections across the sector!

During Pride Month and every month, EFry believes 2SLGBTQIA+ community members deserve safety, dignity, and belonging every day.

Our rainbow stairs are more than just paint. They are a visible commitment that everyone who walks through our doors is entering a space where they are welcomed, respected, and safe to be themselves.

This is one of many ways we are working to show that inclusion is built into our environment and our practice.

We know that symbols matter, but they’re only the beginning. We remain committed to ongoing learning, allyship, and creating spaces where people don’t have to question whether they belong.

Happy Pride Month 🌈

June is Pride Month. A time to celebrate the strength, diversity, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, while also reflecting on the ongoing work toward equity, safety, and belonging for all.

Pride began as a movement for rights, dignity, and visibility, and it continues to be both a celebration and a call to action. It’s about honouring the history of advocacy, recognizing the resilience of q***r and trans communities, and reaffirming our commitment to inclusion in our workplaces and communities.

We know that Pride can mean different things to different people, including celebration, remembrance, joy, and reflection. However you observe it, this month is an opportunity to listen, learn, and show up with respect and care. To our team members and community members who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+, we celebrate you and the many ways you enrich our organization and our community.

Your voices, experiences, and leadership matter.

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to recognize the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Turtle Island.

It’s also a time for all to reflect on the ongoing impacts of colonization, and to continue learning about truth, reconciliation, and Indigenous resilience.

At EFry, we encourage everyone to take time this month to learn from Indigenous voices, stories, and knowledge, and to reflect on how we each play a role in reconciliation.
