Heads Up for Inclusion

Heads Up for Inclusion Promoting opportunities for people with and without disabilities to develop meaningful relationships.

We work with volunteers in schools and the community to create opportunities for young people of different abilities to learn and interact with each other. We plan special events or help young people plan their own activities where they can meet and bond. These relationships are fostered in schools and community spaces where everyone feels safe, welcome, and included.

Belonging Builders are people who believe that everyone deserves to feel included, valued, and connected. They understand how powerful belonging can be—and they choose to help make it possible in our community.

Belonging Builders support our work through monthly giving. Their steady support helps sustain our inclusion programs and ensures that young people with disabilities can continue to build friendships, confidence, and community. They know that small monthly gifts add up to a big impact over time.

So many of us remember the joy of being invited to a birthday party or spending a day outdoors with friends—but for many youth with disabilities, those moments of belonging are too often out of reach.
That’s something we’re working to change.

Through our Amigos programs, we’re creating spaces where everyone is included, celebrated, and free to just be themselves. From unforgettable Camp Kawartha days to our annual Amigos Birthday Party, these experiences are filled with laughter, connection, and joy.

Last year alone, more than 140 youth joined us for these special moments of belonging—and we’re just getting started.
Because every young person deserves to feel included. Every young person deserves to celebrate. 💛

Help us secure another 25 years of belonging and inclusion for youth in Peterborough by donating today! Head to: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/heads-up-for-inclusion/ to donate today, or become a Belonging Builder by setting up your monthly donation.
