We have become well known for filing income tax returns FREE year round for our clients...many of whom are on social assistance. We have done over 1,400 for the 2023 tax year.
We also help Seniors filling out forms, etc. We are volunteer run. Any donations from clients are used to provide water snd snacks FREE for our clients.

We are pleased to announce that FRIENDS Peterborough will be re-opening on Monday, July 5th, 2021.
For the safety and well-being of our staff, our family members, and our clients, certain safety precautions will still be in effect. Only one person or one family group will be allowed in the office at a time. All clients must wear a mask and use hand sanitizer. These precautions will remain in effect until further notice.
Please note the change in our hours of operation. We will be OPEN Monday to Thursday from 10 until 4 and Fridays from 10 until 1.

FRIENDS Peterborough - INCOME TAX PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

We will be CLOSED until the end of April due to the current provincial guidelines regarding COVID 19 and the spread of the variant strains of the virus. The safety and well-being of our staff, our family members and our clients is of utmost importance. THANK YOU for your understanding!

Please put your Income Tax Information in an envelope and drop it through the mail slot beside our front door. I’ll pick up the returns every couple of days and take them to Stephen, our tax man. The following information MUST be included or we won’t be able to file your tax return:

• NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER
• SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBER (S.I.N.)
• DATE OF BIRTH
• ALL T4 SLIPS (T 5007 slips if you are on ODSP or OW)
• MARITAL STATUS (Single, Married, Divorced, Separated, Widowed, Common Law)
• NAME & DATE OF BIRTH of any dependents who depend on you for financial assistance
• TOTAL AMOUNT OF RENT paid for the year(s) that you are filing for.
• NAME OF LANDLORD
• PROPERTY TAXES paid if you own your home
• ANY CHARITABLE or MEDICAL RECEIPTS

Stephen will e-File your return electronically. After returns are filed we will mail your copy to the address you have given us along with your documents. If you have any questions please call us @ (705) 745-2830 and leave a message. I will be checking the phone messages every day.
