Meet our VP communications, Corey Robert LeBlanc:

Hi everyone! I am the current VP of Communications with the Trent Economics Society. I am an economics major entering my third year at Trent University. I am from small town, rural Ontario – and I am focused on a career in law. My passion for economics stems from my belief that economics is the science of everyday life. Economics, and the economy, at its most basic level, is simply a system for the distribution of goods. In fact, it is widely accepted that trade between individuals, is one of the primary, unique characteristics that separates Humans from other animals, and allowed the groundwork for modern civilization. This fact alone proves the importance of economics on our everyday life. An understanding of economics is vital to the understanding of a plethora of fields, and is crucial to the planning and management of any organization. For these reasons, I find economics infinitely interesting.
My goals for the future include a career in law, and eventually in government. I am also dedicated to providing a voice for the marginalized. I am currently an advocate for the Canadian – Jewish community, and would love to continue this work on a larger platform moving forward.
I am excited to work with economics and business students in my role as VP of Communications, and I can’t wait to show the world why Trent University is the best school in Ontario to study economics!
