TMP (Trent Millennium Promise) is a not for profit student group that is engaging with the Millennium Villages initiative based on the findings of the United Nations Millennium Project. The main aim of the Millennium Villages program is to support 80 villages across 10 countries in Africa and offer people sustainable and innovative ways for lifting themselves out of extreme poverty. In using new

advances in science in technology the Millennium Villages project is designed to demonstrate that community-led action plans can achieve the Millennium Development Goals for 2015. TMP was founded in February, 2011 by three Trent University students, Almendra Piedra, Nejat Abdella and Felipe Machado. They envisioned Trent Millennium Promise to engage with this ground breaking project (the Millennium Villages) by supporting one of the villages in Koraro, Ethiopia. TMP's main goal is to engage Trent students with this project and join other Canadian Universities in the End Poverty Campaign for 2015.
