Did you know Bed-Based Withdrawal Management Services are available in Peterborough? ⤵️

Withdrawal Management supports people who want to make changes to their substance use and need help to get through the withdrawal period. Withdrawal is a very important stage in self-directed change, as physical symptoms need to be managed to ensure safety and well-being.

Service users might access Withdrawal Management at the beginning of their change journey, but can also access it during periods of relapse or managing cravings at any time. Our multidisciplinary team provides around-the-clock support to help service users safely navigate withdrawal and work toward their goals.

In response to Ontario Big City Mayors' (OBCM) recent call for action on homelessness, AMHO, Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario, and CAMH are urging caution regarding OBCM's recommendation to amend legislation to expand the scope of mandatory treatment programs.

𝗢𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵.

Ontario has opened a new Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment (HART) Hub in Peterborough to help people access care while keeping communities safe.

This is part of Ontario’s plan to open 29 HART Hubs across the province to improve access to recovery and treatment services for individuals and families facing mental health and substance use challenges.

The Peterborough HART Hub is delivering services, with the Four Counties Addiction Services Team serving as the lead agency. It collaborates with local organizations – including the City of Peterborough Social Services; Canadian Mental Health Association – Haliburton, Kawartha, and Pine Ridge; Elizabeth Fry Society of Peterborough; Peterborough Community Health Centre; Peterborough County-City Paramedics and the Peterborough Regional Health Centre – to provide care.
