My name is Chloë Black of Paws For Peace. When Russia invaded Ukraine, almost one year ago, like most of the world, I felt angry and helpless. I felt like I was unable to do anything to help.
When the call-out came for volunteers to help the animals displaced and cut off from aid, I immediately knew I needed to go.
After spending a total of 4 months between a shelter in Romania and volunteering with an amazing charity in Ukraine, I’ve decided to do as much as I can, for as long as I can.
The Paws For Peace logo was generously donated by local (Peterborough, Ontario) graphic designer Tanya MacNeil of FlirTees and I would like to express to her my gratitude. And while Paws For Peace was initially a fundraiser for a return trip to Ukraine, it will now be working toward more ongoing work to help animals, and people, who are suffering from this senseless war.
