On 12 April 1955, the polio vaccine💉 developed by Dr. Jonas Salk and his colleagues was officially declared "safe, effective, and potent."

This marked a critical turning point in the fight against this incurable disease. Now children could be protected from poliovirus, and within a few decades, Rotary would propose the seemingly impossible: eradicating polio for good.

The Rotary Club of Petawawa is pleased to donate a cheque for $2,500.00 in support of the Pembroke Regional Hospital’s CT Scanner Giving Tuesday fund raiser. Rotarian Lorne Wilson presents the cheque to Roger Martin Executive Director of PRH Foundation. The Rotary Club of Petawawa appreciates the opportunity to work with Delta Bingo Pembroke and raise funds for community causes.
