The 4th Annual Neil Graham Memorial Show & Shine was held on Sunday August 16, 2026. Unlike last year, the weather was absolutely perfect. There were over 150 vehicles in attendance at some point during the show. Our 50/50 draw was $1,015.00 for the take home portion, and the balance was donated to the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital, MRI machine campaign. There were dozens of door prizes available and some very happy winners. We are extremely fortunate and forever grateful to all the businesses and individuals for their support.

The 2026 cruise in season of the Perth Civitan Classic Cruisers Car Club has ended for the year.

We are thrilled to announce our Weekly Monday night 50/50 draws raised over $1,600.00, which will be donated to the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospitals.

On Monday September 7th, our 15 Minutes of Fame volunteer was David Eastwood, who shared the story of his 1964 Volkswagen Beetle.
David shared that he heard of this beauty through a friend, of a friend, of a friend, perhaps a relative or two, which was located on Vancouver Island. The Beetle was shipped to Vaughan, ON for approximately $2,000.00, with numerous parts and accessories included. Upon arriving in Vaughan, it was discovered the gas pedal cable had disconnected. In order to transport the car, David rented a U Haul trailer and borrowed a truck for the drive to his home in Kemptville. The original motor was 1200CC, but has since been upgraded to a 1680CC. David reports that the brake cylinders and brake shoes have been replaced, which is rather useful given that the car does tend to wander on the road.
The interior has been re-done, to match the original 1964 style. Having owned this beauty for one year, David shared that there is almost no heat, the car is extremely noisy on the road, and having driven the car at 60 miles/hour, it is not recommended given the tendency to wander.

Monday August 31 15 Mins of Fame was 'Ladies Night' so it seemed fitting that we hear from two of our female club members. The second participant was Jane Scott with her 2002 Ford Mustang Saleen. This beauty was originally from Arizona, then travelled to California before moving north to Edmonton and eventually to Fort MacMurray, Alberta. Jane purchased her baby in the fall of 2014, trailered it back to Ontario and eventually to Perth in 2018. The recent restoration started last fall and was completed by Willie George Kelford the first week of August 2026. The new paint is a high gloss black with a halogen flake clear coat. It is absolutely beautiful, especially in the sun, which brings out the colours. Jane enjoys driving in the sunshine, and like all antique/classic vehicle owners, dreads the time when we must put them in storage for the winter.

Monday August 31 15 Mins of Fame was 'Ladies Night' so it seemed fitting that we hear from two of our female club members.
The first participant was Deborah Ireton, along with her husband Jim, who shared the story of their 1956 Chevrolet 1300, stepside pickup truck. This beauty was manufactured in Oshawa, ON., and was shipped west to Eston, Saskatchewan, to Switzer GMC and Massey Ferguson Dealer. The original paint colour was red and ivory and then spent most of its life on a farm. Jim and Deb found it in the Auto Trader 20 years ago, making them the second owners in Ontario.
The truck is mostly all original, with the exception of new brakes, tires and a water pump. By the photo you will see the truck is now blue, and Deb opted for a 'farm decor' colour scheme on the interior, basically a holstein cow colour palette (just the black and white parts). One day they hope to add a set of wooden cattle racks.
Jim & Deb's attachment to the truck is that it is the same age as its drivers.
