Love Your Lake survey of Bennet and Fagan lakes will be launching July 8th! Love Your Lake is a shoreline survey and educational stewardship program that can be used by any shoreline community across the country. This program is coordinated by the Centre for Sustainable Watersheds (CSW) and the Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) and is delivered by regional partner organizations.

Volunteers from the lake will join staff from the program to visit and assess all shoreline properties but will not go on land or take pictures of people.

No action required on your part! More information on the program and how you will be able to access your individual shoreline report will be provided in the Association Spring newsletter coming out this weekend. Keep your eyes out for that!

Hello Fellow Cottage Lovers....
if you have not already heard this legislation is being presented to Parliament this week. It could affect you.
The Capital Gains tax that is being implemented and put before parliament this morning is an important issue for Canadian cottage owners.

From a fellow member....On Dokken rd, there were two large mama snappers laying eggs in the open sandy and gravel flat area (turn around space) before the private road begins. They laid eggs right on the edge of the road. Anyone driving into that open space would probably squash them. I know it’s sometimes unavoidable, just thought I’d spread the word and this is the only forum I can likely reach most coming into Bennett Lake from Dokken. 🐢🐢
