Take part in an afternoon focused on supporting and empowering those who provide care to individuals and loved ones living with serious illness.

Empowering Caregivers brings together family caregivers, friends and health care professionals for an afternoon of learning, connection and meaningful conversation.

The event will feature Keynote Speaker Paul Adams, Co-Chair of the Canadian Grief Alliance, followed by an engaging panel facilitated by Anne-Marie Bouthillette of the Ontario Caregiver Association, with local professionals and community partners sharing their knowledge and experience.

🎉🎂 Birthday Celebrations at The Hospice Hub Day Program!

Last week, we celebrated our very own Connie from Perth! Her dessert of choice? Renee’s famous Pineapple Dream—an excellent decision! 🍍🍰
It was a chilly day, so guests bundled up in afghan blankets while enjoying one of our volunteer’s delicious butternut squash soup and crispy grilled cheese sandwiches.

A beautiful day filled with warm hearts, delicious food, music, laughter, and friendship. 💙

We were absolutely delighted to welcome Becky from Friends of the Smiths Falls Public Library to The Hospice Hub Day Program last week! This marks the third time the Friends have generously donated to our Day Program. It truly felt like Christmas had arrived early! 🎁

These thoughtful donations make such a meaningful difference in creating a welcoming, comfortable, and engaging space for our Day Program participants. Every item helps us provide opportunities for creativity, connection, laughter, and meaningful moments together.

The Hospice Hub is pleased to offer Reading Circles, a welcoming space to read and discuss books exploring the topic of grief and bereavement.

Together, we’ll share thoughtful conversation in a supportive environment while learning from different perspectives and areas of expertise. Whether you’re personally experiencing grief, supporting someone who is, or simply interested in learning more, you’re welcome to join us.

Well, we can officially add “welcomed a horse into church” to our list of Day Program accomplishments! 🐴❤️

This week, Angel—a sweet therapy Shetland pony—trotted into our day, accompanied by Ben, quite possibly the most excitable dog in the world! 🐶 Both came to us through Hoofs and Heartbeats, an amazing organization whose wonderful animals brought instant joy to the room.

Every one of our guests had the opportunity to feed them, spend time with them, and soak up the kind of simple, uncomplicated happiness that only animals seem to bring.

And judging by the steady stream of treats, Angel and Ben may now believe that the Day Program is their favourite all-inclusive resort!

Moments like these remind us that joy doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it has four legs, a wagging tail, and a very healthy appetite for treats.

This is what life is about. ❤️
