Watson's Corners Community Hall will build a ground level storage shed to limit the use of the hall’s basement for storage. This accommodation will be much appreciated by the ageing population that uses the hall and ensures volunteer safety.

We had so much fun watching these young scientists learn, wonder, think, experiment, create and have fun. I was right there with them! So glad PDCF could help this worthwhile program. 💖

We had a great time going to a investigative workshop with our friends from the Perth and District Community Foundation! We visited a vibrant grade 1 classroom for their workshop Structures, Materials and More so we could get a first-hand look at hands-on STEM for little learners.

The support of Perth and District Community Foundation is allowing us to bring workshops to over 350 learners in Lanark and Perth. We are proud to be able to deepen our impact with the help of our dedicated donors.

Publicly funded mental health services can be hard to access due to long wait times. Pivotal Help helps bridge the gap by providing immediate access to services for those in need. This grant funded access for 10 local youth.

More than 35% of Ontarians will experience a mental health or addiction problem at some point in their lives. If you or someone you know needs support, the ConnexOntario helpline can connect you with information and services in your community: 1-866-531-2600

Visited Barbers Lake with Friends of Lanark Highlands yesterday. FLH, who received a PDCF Community Grant through the Small Change Fund, are working to protect habitat from industry so future generations of creatures, trees, and other precious wildlife will survive and thrive… and they are building community in the process. 💖

Last evening, CFUW Perth and District presented their annual Education Awards to a group of young women who are helping to building stronger communities through their diverse volunteer contributions and academic pursuits. An impressive bunch!

PDCF holds the CFUW Perth and District Education Awards Fund and is honoured to play a small role in helping distribute these awards. Many thanks to all of the CFUW members, annual garden tour hosts, and donors that make this happen. 💖

This discussion about the value of Basic Income as a way to save on healthcare spending, build better lives, and create stronger communities is timely. It’s going to be an evening of excellent national and local speakers. Hope you can make it TOMORROW - Thursday, May 21 - Hanley Hall - Smiths Falls. Doors Open at 6:30 pm. Free admission. Details below.

We are so excited to be joined by Senator Kim Pate at our FREE May 21 event opening a discussion around a guaranteed basic income.

Kim Pate was appointed to the Senate of Canada on November 10, 2016, and is a fierce advocate of basic income.

Senator Pate is a member of the Order of Canada, a recipient of the Governor General’s Award in Commemoration of the Persons Case, the Canadian Bar Association’s Bertha Wilson Touchstone Award, and six honourary doctorates (Law Society of Upper Canada, University of Ottawa, Carleton University, St. Thomas University, Nipissing University and Wilfrid Laurier University) and numerous other awards. Her extensive list of publications, national and international speaking engagements and her strategic intervention and advocacy for substantive equality testify to her commitment to broader social, economic and cultural change.

Join us in Smiths Falls on May 21 for a discussion about a guaranteed basic income in Canada. RSVP at our link in bio.
