Our aim is to contribute to positive climate action by assisting in the development of a resilient sustainable urban forest in the town of Perth and the surrounding areas.
1) Our Perth Trees wants to plant trees and shrubs annually. This can be done directly by OPT members doing the planting of saplings we have been able to obtain. We are having our first sale in May 2023.
2) We will provide edu
cation to the public on ways to protect the health of trees. For example, we started working on removing invasive vines from trees and shrubs in the parks. We do some of the work but we want to engage others to be involved. We want to provide information to home owners: (i.e. alert them to be on the look out for these vines on their properties, as well as provide info on how to properly remove the vines.)
3) We want to provide general information about growing an urban forest. At this time none of the OPT members are experts is this field. But we want people with inquiries to know that we will help get them the information they are looking for.
