thly membership at the “JKD Boot Camp - Online Education Centre” which is our video “textbook” for much of what we do here. Other than that.. you just supply your own training gear that you bring to class in your gym bag. Also, another thing.. no huge commitment right away. You can try it out and to see how much you enjoy it first! This introductory class is dedicated to all like-minded individuals, who are interested in pursuing a course in martial theory, self defense, and functional fitness. We teach Jeet Kune Do (JKD) which includes Boxing and weapons in a very relaxed and safe manner. We don’t follow any strange rituals and we teach the classes in a non-formal style. Our main goal is to make it fun. This self defense program is an exciting, explosive, and energizing mix of martial arts and fitness training. Whether your goal is to lose body fat, gain flexibility, tone your muscles, or just learn self defense, This class is the answer! Our training incorporates kicks, punches, elbows and knees as well as extensive physical conditioning to build endurance, strength, and speed making it an incredible energizing work-out. Easy to learn and fun, this dynamic group class for both kids and adults is growing in popularity. What is Jeet Kune Do (JKD)? The legendary Bruce Lee developed Jeet Kune Do (JKD) after studying 26 different fighting systems and exploring and discovering what works in a real fight scenario. JKD is concerned with the completeness and totality of fighting and self-defense. JKD is not itself a style, but rather a philosophy or training methodology with training concepts and principles that address the problems and advantages of the various ranges in fighting. The JKD curriculum utilizes useful techniques and concepts from many martial art delivery systems and trains them in an innovative and functional way that simulates reality. This dynamic training facilitates students to develop attributes such as mobility, speed, power and sensitivity. There is strong emphasis on extremely effective, reality tested, street oriented techniques to give students street-fighting survival tactics. These techniques can be taught in a relatively short period of time.
