Grandmothers for Africa, S. Okanagan Grandmothers for Africa, S. Okanagan, is one of many groups of women in Canada who fundraise for the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Proceeds assist African grandmothers raising their HIV/AIDS orphaned grandkids, victims of intimate partner violence, + more.

I created this vid to mark the end of the season for Grandmothers for Africa, South Okanagan's potluck lunch today. It will be used for many other purposes in our fundraising projects.

Our end-of-season meeting is next Wednesday, June 10. 10am to 11am followed by a potluck lunch. We finish at 1pm.
If we use the plates and cutlery in the kitchen, we have to hand-wash them. So bring your own plate, cutlery, and a drink.
Also, remember, there is no longer parking for visitors in large groups. The map of parking availability is below.

Our last monthly meeting for the season is on Wednesday, June 10, at 10am.
NB: Parking regs have changed at Skaha Lake Towers. Large groups no longer have access to visitor spots. (You will be towed if found in one of these spots without an authorized pass.)

"A staggering 4,000 adolescent girls and young women acquire HIV every week, and the vast majority of them live in the region where our community-led partners work. Recent findings by UNAIDS show that about 83% of all HIV transmissions among children also occur in sub-Saharan Africa."
