🛴 Heads Up, Riders! Safety Matters More Than Ever 🚲

Whether you're biking along a scenic trail, cruising on a scooter, or skateboarding 🛹 with friends, our streets and paths are filled with people of all ages enjoying the ride🌞

🧠 Quick reminder: Your brain doesn’t get a second chance - protect it every time you ride!

A few simple habits can make all the difference:
✔ Strap on a helmet - every ride, every time
✔ Stay alert and focused behind the wheel (or handlebars!)

💡 Helmets aren’t just for kids. Adults, teens, and even quick “around-the-block” rides all carry risk and accidents can happen in a split second. It might feel small but these choices can save a life… maybe even yours.

🚨 Brain Injuries don’t discriminate - they can happen in seconds and to anyone.

The most common causes:
• 🚗 Car accidents
• 🪜 Falls at home or work
• 🏈 Sports injuries

💡 The good news?
Many are preventable.

Awareness is your first line of defense.

Rushing to get somewhere is one of the biggest risks on the road. Leaving a few minutes earlier and giving yourself extra time can make all the difference.

When you plan ahead, you’re less likely to speed, make sudden decisions, or take unnecessary risks. You can stay focused, drive calmly, and react more safely to what’s happening around you.

💡 Remember: getting there safely is always more important than getting there quickly.

👉 Stay safe and share this to spread awareness.

🧠 The numbers matter, but the stories matter more 🧠

• Over 1.5 million Canadians are living with a brain injury
• Every 3 minutes, someone in Canada sustains one
• It’s the leading cause of death and disability for people under 35

Behind every statistic is a person - a life changed in an instant: a student, a parent, a co-worker, a friend, a family member.

These numbers are more than data, they're a reminder of how widespread brain injury is, and how vital it is to raise awareness, improve prevention, and support recovery.

🚴‍♀️ Wearing a helmet during sports and leisure activities, whether biking, skating, skiing, water-skiing and so on, can significantly reduce the risk of serious brain injury.

💬 Let’s turn awareness into action.

Did you know that June is National Indigenous History Month?

This month, we recognize and honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

It’s a time to reflect, learn, and listen, while acknowledging both the strength and resilience of Indigenous communities, as well as the importance of truth and reconciliation.

📚 Take time this month to:
• Support Indigenous creators and businesses
• Educate yourself through books, films, and events
