Penticton and Area Cycling Association

Penticton and Area Cycling Association https://linktr.ee/bikepenticton We have evolved to become the prominent force in both on and off-road trail design, maintenance and planning.

The Penticton and Area Cycling Association was formed in 2008 with a goal of providing the south-central Okanagan with a voice for cyclists. Bike Penticton is your source for local riding information. We work with city, provincial government and NGOs in securing access to rural and urban landscapes, allowing residents and tourists alike to better enjoy time spent on their bikes. We are also involv

ed in numerous charity fundraisers, ecological restoration and cycling liaison projects. We are a not-for-profit organization run by a dedicated group of volunteers to provide members a supportive and social network for cycling.

We had an amazing crew of dedicated and skilled trail volunteers out for PACA Trail Day No. 2!

Today on Tsweet Tsue we:

-completed rock curbing on corner number one to mitigate erosion
-reshaped corners 2-6 and contoured to shed water
-framed in the wood roll at the entrance to stop erosion and root exposure
-decommissioned the cheater lines along the ridge to stop erosion (sorry, no more 15 second Strava segments!)

We’re still a few trail days from completing the full rehab, so Tsweet Tsue will remained closed for a few more weeks. Thanks all for your patience!

And many, many thanks to everyone who showed up to give our trails some love! Tsweet Tsue has been on the To Do list for years so felt great getting a huge head start.

As always, hit up our DMs or email [email protected] to get involved!

This trail day is focused on armouring corners on Tsweet Tsue to help prevent further erosion and keep the trail riding well through the season. It’s a hands-on build day with a mix of physical work and on-trail problem solving—no experience needed, just a willingness to get after it.

What You’ll Do
Haul and place pavers for corner armouring
Cut and trim wood for framing
Shovel, rake, and shape dirt
Support general trail work as needed

You’ll get plenty of direction from our Trail Coordinator and have a chance to meet more of the PACA crew while you’re out there.
We’ll be working together to reinforce key sections of trail and make sure they hold up to heavy use.

March 29 - PACA Trail Captain Day – Three Blind Mice
Help us get the Three Blind Mice network ready to ride.

Trail Captain Day is a focused volunteer day where volunteers are assigned a trail to clear debris, check conditions, and report issues. This isn’t a heavy dig day—it’s about light maintenance + eyes on trails to help PACA prioritize work for the season.

What You’ll Do

Clear deadfall and debris

Check for erosion and safety concerns

Identify trail damage and maintenance needs

Learn how to submit a simple trail report on Trail Forks

This gives PACA a clear snapshot of trail conditions across the network and helps direct crews to where work is needed most.

The weather has been unseasonably mild and, up until recent days, the dirt has been heroic. But the last few days have seen the ground begin to thaw and that means ruts start to appear.

Please be mindful and think about turning back if you are leaving ruts. Once hardened, a rutted trail requires hours of repair to return to prime riding conditions. Our trail volunteers thank you!

Please read and note the closure of the Penticton Indian Band portion of the KVR "extending from Summerland south to Banbury Green in Kaleden (see attached map). This closure applies to all public access effective immediately. Recent heavy rainfall has resulted in significant washouts, slope failures, rockfall and structural instability along multiple areas of the corridor."
