We’re excited to share our stall with the South Pender Historical Society at this year’s Fall Fair. Find us on Saturday to try your hand at identifying some unusual artifacts for a chance to win a great little gift basket.

The museum will be open Thurs-Sun 10-4pm, except for Fall Fair morning on Saturday. Admission by donation. ($5/person or $20/family suggested) Accessible parking available down the laneway by the museum.

Here’s what a mini restock looks like in my world.
Like many on Pender, I’ve been busily getting ready for the Fall Fair. It’s such a lovely time of year—when all the growing, sewing, baking and creating comes together.
There will be a number of Market vendors on the grassed area along the road just before you enter the parking lot.
Good luck to everyone with their entries, and see you there!

This coming Saturday I’ll be performing at the wonderful Pender Island Fall Fair with my fabulous blues and roots band!

This year’s theme is International Year of the Women Farmer. My grandparents were homesteaders and so I think there’s a little farmer in my blood to be sure! As well, my hubby has quite the lineage on Pender so this will be so fun! I’ll be including a great mix of women led blues, roots and R&B music from the likes of Ruthie Foster, Bonnie Raitt, Joni Mitchell, Ida Cox, Memphis Minnie, Linda Ronstadt as well as some of mine and Linda Kidder’s originals. The afternoon has plenty to offer including (some of my faves) corn shucking, sheep shearing, highland bagpipers, a magician and a berry pie contest and will be capped off by a great BBQ! Also playing will be Maya Cook and I look forward to hearing her set. ❤️

Thank you so much to Colin Hamilton and The Pender Island Fall Fair committee for having us. We’re looking forward to meeting new people and helping celebrate this very worthy event!

About this event:
Led by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations this global campaign highlights the significant role women play across agrifood systems. Our guests of honour will be all Pender Island Women who have contributed to agriculture. The Gulf Islands have a greater percentage of women farmers than anywhere else in Canada, 48%.
