What a wonderful 1st rehearsal last night! Many familiar faces, and some new ones too! So lovely to hear the first sounds of the season come to life!

Started the evening with sectionals for our winds and brass, and strings, with Marc and Tamara leading the groups.

Then we came together as a full orchestra after a quick break, where we caught up with friends.

Marc led the whole orchestra through a few of our pieces and gave us some great tips to take with us into the coming weeks with our Conductor for this concert, Yves Lacoursiere.

Looking forward to another wonderful season with the Pembroke Symphony Orchestra!

Question: Which famous orchestral suite is Gustav Holst known for writing?

The answer we were looking for was The Planets Suite!

Gustav Holst composed the Planets Suite between 1914 and 1917. Each of the 7 movements is titled and inspired by the planets in our solar system.
