National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is an opportunity to reflect on the history and ongoing impacts of colonialism, listen to Indigenous voices, and continue learning how we can do better.
As a fire service, we have a responsibility to be part of that work and to build stronger relationships with the communities we serve.
Over the past year, weโve continued to work alongside Lilฬwat Nation through Indigenous artwork on our new fire engine, supporting cultural prescribed burns, and working together on wildfire preparedness, emergency response efforts, and protecting our communities.
Weโre grateful for the opportunity to learn from one another and continue building a relationship based on respect, partnership, and understanding. ๐งก
