Thanks to the Town of Peace River staff and council for joining us for WIN 2026!

It was great to have so many members of our team attend the Women In the North Conference in April!

The event brought together women from across the Peace Region to connect, share experiences, and celebrate leadership in northern communities.

We’re proud to have strong women leaders helping serve our community every day, and grateful for opportunities that support this growth.

The Hop Shop experience has been extended -- please see this message from the organizers:

"We’ve decided to extend our Shop Hop until May 9th! 🛍️This gives everyone a little extra time to get those passports filled up and handed in. We know it was a busy couple of days and not everyone had the chance to participate, so we thought—why not keep the fun going a little longer?

Even better… we’re tying it in with Mother’s Day, making it the perfect opportunity to shop local, explore our amazing businesses, and maybe even find something special for Mom 💕

Happy shopping and good luck to everyone participating!

Note that if you didn't hand in your passport, please bring it, and if you don't have it anymore, you can bring any receipts, get a new one and have it re-stamped."

What a great day spent with attendees in Grimshaw at the Legion on Wednesday for the 2026 Women in the North Regional Conference. Thank you so much to everyone who joined us - it truly felt like a day spent with friends and community, and it was great to share it with women from across the region.

First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you goes to our sponsors and supporters - this event would not be possible without your generosity and support. Thank you to Tammy Moore and her crew for the absolutely delicious meal, and to the Grimshaw Legion for hosting us and being so wonderful to work with. A big thank you to our emcee and four workshop presenters for sharing your time, knowledge and passion—it was so meaningful and such a treat to have local speakers share their expertise.

Big shoutout to Randy Hodgkinson and Marty O’Bryne at H&S Entertainment for handling the audiovisuals and everything behind the scenes. Randy kept things running smoothly all day, and Marty was there to help with setup and take down - we are so lucky to have them!

Thank you also to Lori Day from Lori’s Photography for spending the day with us, to KikiRose Coffee Co. for keeping everyone refuelled with delicious specialty coffees and to Dan Archer from the Mile Zero-Banner Post for attending and covering the event.

We also want to thank the Grimshaw & District Chamber of Commerce for hosting a pre-conference ladies’ night for attendees on the 21st, the Coast Inn & Suites for offering a discount to those travelling from out of town, and the Grimshaw businesses who organized and hosted the Shop Hop experience, which has been extended with more details to come.

Pick up a passport at participating locations (see the map below), collect stamps, and be entered to win a collaborative gift basket containing items from Grimshaw's hidden gems.
