To relieve conditions attributable to being aged by providing seniors with transportation, wellness and recreational programs and services that relieve social isolation and loneliness. Sorry for delay in posting. The Charity has been occupied touching base with seniors, and assisting with some special requests including navigating healthcare and various government programs.

One of the Directors personally (not the Charity) assisted a number of seniors with their 2025 income tax returns for free with using open spots on available Turbo Tax program used. This was to trial seeing what effort it would be. It went well so we are now looking into the Federal Government program offered to benefit charities that do "free tax clinics" for next year. More to follow.

We are awaiting results of a court case that will impact how our Charity will assist seniors. An incident occurred back in September 2025 and we expect that the case will be heard in Jul (after a number of delays). Unfortunately one of the clients was physically threatening with one of the volunteers and criminal charges were subsequently laid.

We will be having a couple of yard sales in July for fundraising. Will advertise at the post office and online with the details.

Quick update. FYI our O2 Concentrator has been out on loan for a couple months now. Forgot to mention it is in use and not available.

8 December 2025 Gift Bags Debrief

We have completed this initiative delivering to 201 senior households, who either requested or were referred by caring neighbors. 🙂

If we haven't reached out to you for this event, those on our list will be first served for next event.

We are very grateful for everyone who helped with this initiative. The preparation over several weeks kept senior volunteers active with the charity. Furthermore, those delivering enjoyed the many smiles and appreciative recipients.

Each initiative allows us to recognize supports needed in certain households during the rest of the year.

As always, our charity appreciates any input and ideas for future events.

First two batches. Some of our volunteers having fun doing crafts and readying the bags to be delivered. This process will be ongoing over the next couple weeks. Call us if you would like to help with doing the crafts and deliveries. (902) 254-4650.

We are very thankful for help from the local CO-OP, Hart in Amherst and the Christmas Discounters store next to it, for this initiative.

Our winter initiative has now started. Our volunteers are working to ensure a gift bag for 200 senior households over the next two to three weeks. We have our master list from the last initiative, however if you know of a senior to recommend for this, please call Cathy at 902-254-4650, or by private message.

The gift bag includes an Arden fleece throw (50x60inch), leaf lettuce growing kit, a back scratcher, two ornaments, sweet treats, homemade savory dry snacks, an orange and a banana.

We were recently invited to attend a Dalhousie University initiative, as we are involved with seniors in our area. They went to various locations around the province. Two of our board members attended in Amherst. It was a great opportunity to meet up with various organizations in our county.
