⛵ Notice of Wabamun Boat Launch Closure - July 11

The Parkland Dragon Boat Racing Club is hosting it's 2nd Annual Race Day this Saturday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wabamun's Waterfront Park.

Spectators are welcome to come down, cheer on the racers, and enjoy the day's activities, including:
⛵ Races: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
🌹 Rose Ceremony: 12 p.m.
🐲 Silent River Kung Fu lion and dragon dance: 12:30 p.m.
⛵ Races resume: 1:15 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Please plan ahead: the park will be open to the public but closed to vehicle traffic. Visitors will need to walk in as there will be no parking on site. There will also be no access to the boat launch for the day.

Parkland County Agricultural Services is offering $500 bursaries to support local students enrolled in agri-based post-secondary programs. 🌱🐄

Applications for 2026 are open July 1 to August 28.

To apply, students must:

- Be a resident of Parkland County
- Submit a background essay on their rural experience, community involvement, volunteer work, and recreational activities
- Provide proof of enrolment in a post-secondary institution
