A Life Well-Loved: Jerry Luther

December 30, 2025, like any other day, Jerry woke with the sun, tended to his animals with a gentle hand, and prepared for the day ahead. Then, quietly and unexpectedly, he was called to a greater horizon.

It is with profound sadness, yet with hearts full of gratitude for his wonderful life, that we share the passing of Jerry Luther—a true man of the land, now at peace in heaven.

He was the beloved husband and steadfast partner of Christena; the loving, guiding father of Alicia (John) and Karl (Pam); the cherished and doting "Grandpa" to Gavin, Tiffany (Allan), Jordan (Brody), Adya, and Daeya; and the proud, smiling "Great-Grandpa" to little Harley. He was a dear brother to Larry, Margie, and Marilyn, and is now reunited with his parents, Ronald and Sadie, and his sisters, Nancy and Shirley Ann.

Jerry's story began on a farm in McGillivray, Ontario, and the soul of a farmer never left him. He lived a life of simple, deep values: faith, family, and the honest work of the land. Whether behind the wheel of his International tractor or his truck, crisscrossing southwestern Ontario, he wasn't just moving goods—he was building friendships and sharing in the fellowship of fellow farmers.

His greatest pride and joy, however, were his family. He wore his "Grandpa" title like a badge of honor, his hats and jackets a uniform of unconditional love. You could always find him in the stands or on the sidelines, his voice the loudest, cheering on his precious grandkids in every chapter of their lives.

A pillar of his community, Jerry selflessly served for many years as a volunteer firefighter with the Parkhill Fire Department. Later, that same spirit of dedication was poured entirely into his family. Known for his gift of conversation and his honest, straightforward advice, you could always count on Jerry—to show up, to listen, and to tell you the truth with a kind heart.

His sudden departure has left a silence in the fields and an irreplaceable void in our lives. The echo of his laugh, the wisdom in his stories, and the strength of his embrace will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered.

In keeping with his wishes, a private family farewell has been held. We look forward to gathering with all who knew and loved him to truly celebrate his remarkable journey at a Celebration of Life in March 2026. Details will be shared by the family when finalized.

For those wishing to honor Jerry's memory, the family would be comforted by donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Though he has left the farm, his harvest of love, loyalty, and laughter remains with us all.
