Paisley Blues Festival keeps on rolling tonight, and it's not your average festival.

Every dollar of profit goes back into the community, including the local elementary school music program. Entry is whatever you can give. Show up with $20, show up with $5, show up with nothing at all if that's where you're at.

Two days of blues, blues-rock, and just enough roots music to keep the dancers happy. The whole town becomes the venue. It's been named one of the top 100 festivals and events in Ontario.

The food's good. The vibe is right. If you haven't been before, this is the weekend to make the drive.

Featured in this week's GB Buzz Top 3. Link in the comments for the rest of the lineup.

Who wants to learn how to play the ukelele??!

Opening our Saturday stage is Nicole with her 'Intro to Blues Uke Jam & Workshop.' Whether you decide to grab a uke to try, bring your own instrument or watch the fun from afar, this opening workshop is guarenteed to bring our community together for some good ol' fashion fun!

Nicole Christian is a little roots, a little country and a whole lot bottle-neck blues. She is multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and educator who specializes in flute, piano and resophonic guitar.

Nicole released two solo albums before heading to the studio to record her full band album, Run Rabbit Run, which was voted The Best Debut Roots and Blues Album of 2010. In 2014 she released a duo album, Come on In My Kitchen, with fellow bluesman Alfie Smith.

Nicole was selected as a finalist for the Toronto
Blues Society's Talent Search in 2011 and was nominated for two Hamilton Music Awards, Best Female Vocalist and Best Blues Album. She has appeared on an episode of Toronto Talent and won a Hamilton Arts Award for Performance in 2012.

Nicole performs regularly throughout Southern Ontario and upstate NY. Highlights from previous years include Festival of Friends, Lighthouse Blues Fest, Mariposa and the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, where Nicole and Alfie competed on behalf of Western NY, Nicole's home state.

Nicole is also an enthusiastic educator and supporter of young musicians. During the school year she teaches privately as well as for the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts.
